Our sports infrastructure comprising, synthetic basketball court, cricket pitch, 200-meter track, football field, volleyball court, badminton and more are being actively used for physical fitness of our students. Our on-going fitness initiatives, (through specialized equipment and activities) are giving us commendable results and we hope to strengthen them in the years to come.
Our curriculum encourages curiosity and experimentation. The canvas of our co-curricular activities is large, varied and ‘hands on’ with productive, creative experiences. Our student clubs such as Interact Club, Literary Club, Environment Club, Art Club, Theatre Club, Music Club, Science Club and Sports Club facilitate student leadership in very concrete terms. Our tradition of recognizing academic and cultural excellence through Scholar Badge, Honours Badge and Gold Medals motivates our students towards skill-based proficiency. We have proudly burgeoned into a multi-disciplinary institute providing an enriching range of activities to nurture talents in tune with the challenges of modern times.
The Social Science “Heritage” Lab is an extremely hip and happening place. A beautiful and sunlit room, it has shelves filled with clay models of various landforms, miniatures, bronze historical figurines and lots of wall mounted models and maps – all of which are used extensively by both students and teachers. Projects and role plays by students are presented here in our Lab. The huge collection of CD’s from National Geographic and Discovery Channel along with many illustrated reference books, all help to make this lab a veritable treasure trove.
Technology advancement has affected every sphere of life especially education. This has changed our perception of what a school should provide for its students. In times of booming technology, the computer labs at MGWS, BSR provide the appropriate platform to the students to be future technocrats. The computer labs are used not just to hone the skills of computer geeks but also provide an exposure to the novices.
With our lab, which cater to the needs of senior, middle, junior and nursery sections, the lab also provide facilities to the students to explore the world through internet. Our lab has 30 computers and a server. Our computer lab is the complete amalgamation of visual entertainment and learning. In the middle and sr. wing, students are taught concepts of flash, HTML, VB, MS Office, C and C++ at various levels which prepare them to face the tough challenges of the computer world later on. It is in these labs that the teachers also get the facilities to learn while they work on the computers in their separate section in the lab. Walk in any time of the day, you’ll always find a few teachers and students at work in these labs.
The gift of science has added greatly to the dignity and sublimity of human civilization and science is often acclaimed as an angel of creative ideas. It is to hone these creative ideas that MGWS has excellent Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories; and it is here that students learn to bring their experiments out of these labs to their daily lives.
It is an ultra-modern lab fully equipped with latest apparatus to provide the much needed facilities to the students from classes I – XII. The senior wing lab caters to the requirement of students from classes VI – XII with 50 students at a time. It also includes a dark room for experiments on light. Besides practical, the lab is also used for activities of the Astronomy Club.
The Chemistry Lab in MGWS, BSR is well equipped with all modern apparatus and chemicals required up to class XII. With the seating capacity of about 50 students in this well ventilated hall, the Lab also prides itself of having a balance room for volumetric analysis. Students are guided by qualified teachers to complete their projects and experiments.
The spacious, well ventilated Biology Lab caters to the requirement of senior students. Keeping the latest syllabus in mind the models, specimens, charts, chemicals etc. have been well planned. Besides, the lab is self-sufficient with other necessary assets. The well qualified teachers and lab assistants are yet another asset for the lab.
The school has its own fleet of 18 Buses & Cabs for the Senior wing and Junior. Besides covering all sector routes from Siyana to Garhmukhteshwar, they cover most parts with various pick-up points. All the buses have a conductor on duty. In case of their absence an alternate person or a supervisor/ security guard is provided for the safety of the children. Each child wears an RFID Card which gives details of his or her individual bus route. Also, the Almanac issued to each child, lists the details of the escorts who would drop and receive the child from their respective bus stops. Each vehicle is equipped with a First Aid Box and communication is maintained with the Driver On Duty throughout the journey.
MGWS BSR initiated the use of Smart Boards in the Classrooms from the session 2016-17. All classrooms from classes Nursery to XIl have been equipped with Smart boards to keep pace with the dynamic education system and to complement and enhance the efficacy of the teaching-learning process. The objective of this initiative was also to motivate the learners, by giving them an opportunity to enjoy the interaction technology offers and by making the subject come alive.
The experiment has been a success. It has captured the attention of the learners, encouraged their involvement in the subject and enabled the teachers to use the multimedia resources with the entire class.
A judicious mix of using this software along with traditional teaching methods are working well and the learner has directly gained in knowledge, understanding and application. This initiative ensures that the entire school gets an opportunity to benefit from this technological support system.
Needs of students and faculty members of MGWS,BSR is being catered by a huge library in Siyana.
This Library offer a range of Resources to its members. These resources are provided to cater to the specific academic needs of the members. The library have a well selected collection of Books, Journals, Periodicals, Newspapers and Audio Visual Media. New additions are constantly made in order to keep the library abreast of the latest.
It caters to the needs of Classes NUR – XII : It has a rich collection of 15,000 documents to strengthen the undergoing courses in school. Documents related to different major disciplines are available in the Library. It has reserved some collection as reference which can be referred to, in the Library only. Encyclopaedia’s, journals, reference books and fiction is made available to all students. Our Library also helps our Tiny- Tots, It is catering to the students from Nur. To XII.
Infrastructure: It has a spacious reading room. A separate reference area has been provided for the students as well as the faculty members. Stack area is spread over two floors. Library provides open access to its users.
Library Membership: It is open for all the students and faculty members. Members are issued a library card for all transactions in the Library. Overdue books draw a fine.
Shelf Arrangement: Books are processed using QR code for cataloguing and Dewey decimal classification. The Call Number helps in locating the books on the shelves.
The most artistically designed open air theatres add aesthetic value to the elegant design and beautiful landscaping of the school. Besides its scenic beauty it provides ample space for activities such as street plays, art/sketch/painting competitions, festival celebrations, specially carol singing on Christmas Eve and competition /activities catering to smaller groups. It is also a popular place to organize staff & class photographs for various purposes.
It wears a very professional look and provides a very comfortable ambience for interaction between our well trained English Speaking teacher and students of all classes. With the seating capacity of about 40 people, the hall is equipped with a projector (for professional discussion & presentation).
